Fighting Fantasy Books

A few weeks ago, I was chatting to my sister and she mentioned that her son (my nephew) doesn’t read books as much as he used to. So we tried to think of some ways to get him back into the habit of reading books (rather that watching TV all day). After a fairly long conversation about what we used to read as children, I remembered that I used to LOVE Fighting Fantasy books. I can’t believe I had forgotten about them! I can remember sitting in my garden for ages reading these. I loved the way you had to get involved in the story and make decisions, and I think it’s a great way to get a child into reading again, because it’s a bit like playing a game.

Anyway, we searched in a few book shops, and couldn’t find any. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed. But you can definitely still buy them online (you can actually buy boxed sets of them!). So, this is what I will be buying as a Christmas gift for my nephew, and I may get a few for myself.
